Why America Is So Polarized

There are two main reasons why this country is so divided and polarized politically. The first reason is that George W. Bush and his band of outlaws put such a sour taste in the mouths of Independents and Democrats that few of them could stomach the thought of ever allowing republicans to hold high public office again. This paved the way for Obama’s sweeping victory in 2008. The second reason is the fact that Barack Obama is half black.

Racism in politics never really abated to a great extent, it just became cloaked in seemingly politically correct, republican code-speech. Racism is alive and well in the back rooms and chambers of the right side of congress. The number one goal of republicans is NOT the economy and jobs, it is making President Obama look bad and denying him a second term. Why? Because they are a bunch of closet racists of the first order.

We wouldn’t have half of the serious problems we have now if Obama had changed a few things about himself before he burst on the political scene. If he had bought himself a Ronald Reagan wig and some blue-tint contact lenses, dabbed on some white face powder, and changed his name to something like Barry O’Bourne, he could have passed for white. [In my doctored photo of Obama, he looks a lot like Paul Ryan, don’t you think?]  As long as the republicans didn’t discover the truth, they would only hate him because he’s a Democrat, not also because his father happened to be black. That racist component is why the tea party gained traction to begin with, why healthcare reform was so vehemently opposed, and why raising the debt ceiling is such a hot potato. Republicans can’t handle having a black man in charge and they’re doing everything they can, short of taking him to the woodshed and flogging him, to “put him in his place.”
