Romney Needs To Look In the Mirror

August 16, 2012

Emblazoned across Mitt Romney’s forehead, metaphorically speaking, is the word “LIAR”. His entire campaign is based on lies, misinformation, baseless attacks, and sleaze. There is no substance to his campaign whatsoever. Every one of his stump speeches so far have come down to: “Obama has failed in every way and I will turn that around.” He has offered no solutions to the many issues that face the American people. He claims that he can fix the economy and create jobs but hasn’t given us a clue as to how he plans to do that. Voters are just supposed to take his word for it that he can.

Yesterday Mitt Romney charged that President Obama is running a campaign “of enmity and jealousy and anger” and called on him to lift the tone of political discourse. How dare him? He has a lot of nerve accusing the Obama campaign of exactly what he’s been doing since he hit the stump. The president has run an honest campaign and tried to stay above the fray while every one of Romney’s ads and speeches have been a hateful, angry, hostile and desperate attempt to denegrate Mr. Obama and all his accomplishments.

In an escalation of an increasingly acrimonious campaign, Romney went on national television to say he thinks Obama is “running just to hang onto power, and I think he would do anything in his power” to remain in office. Well, Duh! Obama wouldn’t be running if he didn’t want to be re-elected to the most powerful office in the world. Why would he expose himself to Romney’s constant and blatantly false attacks if he didn’t want to serve the country for a second term?

Romney was asked about the charge from the Obama campaign that the Romney campaign has become “unhinged,” saying: “I think unhinged would have to characterize what we’ve seen from the president’s campaign.” So, you’re rubber and Obama is glue – everything he says bounces off of you and sticks to him? How infantile can you get? The president was being kind when he used the word “unhinged”, rather than unbalanced, unstable, deranged or, more appropriately… insane.

Romney went on to say, “These personal attacks, I think, are just demeaning to the office of the White House.” Wrong again, Richie Rich, your vicious, erroneous, misleading and completely baseless attacks are demeaning to all Americans with a brain. The few times you’ve stopped slinging mud long enough to offer your ideas for solving our problems, those ideas have been deemed unworkable by every non-partisan expert on the subject. Your campaign of gutter politics is the only method you can run on because you are a narcissistic idiot who is bereft of any substance. You are a liar, and the voters who haven’t yet realized that won’t expend the mental energy to consider it. Their minds are already made up, and the truth would only confuse them. So, you do have that going for you.
