Mass Murder and Justice

July 23, 2012

What do all these people have in common? They are all recent mass murderers. Most of them were witnessed by several survivors during the commission of their crimes. The latest, James Holmes, was wearing a gas mask when he opened up on a theater full of people, but he was found outside the theater afterwards with the gas mask and the weapons. He also booby-trapped his apartment in order to kill any policemen sent there to investigate.

There is no doubt about the guilt of these men, so why do they deserve the luxury and expense of a trial? Shouldn’t they be taken out immediately and hung? Unfortunately, we don’t do things like that under our modern system of jurisprudence. So we spend years of time and millions of taxpayer dollars to determine the level of their guilt. Some may have their lives spared if they are deemed insane. Well, Duh! If they didn’t have a major screw loose, they wouldn’t have killed all those people. Remember, their victims were just innocent men, women and children going about their daily lives when they were mowed down… and for what reason we’ll never know. There are plenty of people who deserve killing, so why didn’t they do us all a favor by taking them out instead?

Most murders are committed out of an excess of emotion, be it jealousy, greed, fear, etc. Some killings are justified like when someone threatens your life, family, or property. But what drives these mass murderers to kill so many indiscriminately? Were they born without the barrier in their brains that most of us have and know not to cross? Did they kill for the thrill of it, or for their 15 minutes of fame? It would be fascinating to know for sure.

Even if one or two of these crackpots gets the death penalty, we’ll spend many more years and many more taxpayer dollars allowing them to appeal their convictions. But, if they manage to dodge the death penalty, we’ll spend many more taxpayer dollars to incarcerate them for the rest of their lives… that is if they don’t eventually get out on parole. I don’t think our justice system is equipped to properly punish killers such as these. Not all human life is worth saving, and anyone who thinks they can be rehabilitated is an idiot. There’s only one way to deal with them and we need to develop the backbone to make it happen.

I completely agree with you! They all need to be shot straight to hell right away! They don’t deserve one minute of pleasure they might get from the fame, noteriety, free meals, free medical. Shoot the sorry bastards now. I wish someone had the courage to kill them. It’s time we take our lives back into our own hands and be done with this kind of crap. There is no doubt about any of these people so no need to screw around giving them justice they don’t deserve. Let the victims and families be the firing squad!!!
