They’ve Cloned Sarah Palin

October 8, 2010

When I first heard Christine O’Donnell on TV, I wasn’t looking at the screen. I thought it was Sarah Palin because they have the same whiney, irritating voice. O’Donnell was saying how masturbation was adultery because the Bible states that if you have lust in your heart you’re committing adultery, and you can’t masturbate without having lust in your heart. That’s when I had to look at the screen to see if Palin had taken yet another step toward certifiable insanity. I was only half wrong.

It wasn’t actually Palin, but I think the tea-baggers have perfected cloning. Both women are good-looking brunettes, approximately the same age, their voices are very similar and the words that spew from their mouths are from the same playbook. There must have been a glitch in their cloning technique, however, because Sarah’s outrageous fringe belief system has been amplified in the Palin clone. Thanks to Bill Maher, we now know that Christine “dabbled in witchcraft” in her younger days. Since then, she’s had a “religious conversion” and is now on the far right fringe of Bible-thumping, conservative Christianity. She’s obviously searching for a spiritual truth that works for her twisted value system, and she’s found it in the way-out fringes of pseudo-Christianity and right-wing politics.

When one Sarah Palin is too much, why would anyone want to create another one? Palin likens herself to a pit bull and a mama grizzly bear – two potentially vicious killing machines who don’t belong in mainstream politics, or running loose in civilized society for that matter. Now we have her clone who is a spiritual whackodoodle, and those types don’t have any place in government, politics or society either.

In a C-SPAN appearance in December 1996, the Delaware Republican said that it is a “misconception that you ‘can’t legislate morality.’ The reality of that statement is that if you don’t legislate one morality then you are legislating somebody else’s morality, so you can’t get around legislating morality.” Do you want Christine O’Donnell, Sarah Palin, or any of their ilk legislating your morality? Think about that the next time you masturbate.

I’m not quite sure what to say.

It doesn’t matter as long as you say the right thing in the voting booth.
